Custom messages are simple text files stored in the data directory that can be included in any template. These text files can be edited using the merchant control panel under "custom messages".
There is one custom message already set up and used on the default main page--"store_welcome". To create additional custom messages, click the "add a new message link" on the custom messages page. Give it a unique name, and if desired, commentary to appear in the instruction area in the merchant panel. You are now ready to edit the message in the control panel. The message can include any HTML tags or elements, but keep in mind this is meant to be an easy to edit message.
To utilize the message on any template, add the following shortcut to the template: (surround it with any HTML style or tags to format it).
