Zone tables may be used for any of the shipping methods except the item cost method. To set up a zone table for a freight method you must check the "use zone table" box. The third wizard screen will provide a place to enter the following:
- Zone Table Name. This will be what the database table will be named. It will be created for you, if it doesn't exist.
- Zone key. Choose which type of key to use for your zone table for domestic orders. International orders will use a country column in your zone table.
- Zone codes.
If you are using a table method of freight calculation, you will need to identify the zone codes, so that the script can create your rate table with the appropriate columns.
Example: You have zones 1-6 in your zone table. To set up columns in
your rate table for each zone, enter those zones separated by a
semi-colon (;)
- Default Zone Code. In the event, the script cannot find a matching zone for the address key given, it will use this zone code in the calculation.
After this screen, you will be given the chance to download a text file with the column headings you will need for your rate table and zone table. See Freight Table Maintenance for more information about supplying the data for these tables.
