Email type
The script automatically sends email confirmation and merchant confirmation, if enabled, which is the default setting. Email can be either HTML or plain text and uses templates similar to page templates.
- The default email type is "text/html". Text, be selected in the wizard email setup panel. "Other" is not a recommended setting. If "other" is selected, you will need to manually enter your desired type and character set into the database.
- Character Set. The default character set is "us-ascii". An optional type may be specified here. It must be a valid character set constant.
- Content Encoding. The default encoding scheme is 7bit. For most Asian languages you would specify 8bit.
Email Addresses
Email addresses can be entered using the Email setup wizard, or the email settings in the Merchant control panel.
- Merchant. Order notifications are sent to this email address.
- Webmaster. Error notifications, if enabled, are sent to this email address. This constant can be used in email links on error pages and throughout the site.
- Sales. This email address is used in the "from" address for error emails, customer order confirmations, and merchant confirmations. This constant can also be used in email links throughout site, if desired.
This Email Must Be Capable Of Sending Email Using Your SMTP.
- Customer Service. This is an optional constant that can be used where desired.
- Reply to. When supplied, this address will by used as the "reply-to" address.
- CC address. When supplied, this address will be receive a copy of all emails sent.
Email Subject Text
The text for email subjects can be entered in the email settings on the wizard panel or the merchant control panel.
Enable/Disable email notifications
Email notification can be turned off for customer, merchant, and error email notifications in the email settings on the wizard panel or the merchant control panel. Error email is not sent when test mode is on.
