Store Settings

  • Password Levels. There are two passwords. The first level password is required for access to the Wizard Panel and will allow access into the merchant panel as well. The second level password allows access to the merchant control panel only. Passwords should be between 8-10 characters.
  • European Date. When this setting is checked the date format will be: dd/mm/yyyy. The default is mm/dd/yyyy. This format is used by the script when converting the current date or database date stamps. This setting should not be changed, once set, or unpredictable date behavior may occur.
  • Date Separator. This entry should be the single character date separator. Such as "/", "-", or ".". Again, this setting should not be changed, once set, or unpredictable date behavior may occur.
  • Store Name. The store name is used in many places in the default templates and in the Merchant and Wizard panels. This can be customized or replaced by logos.
  • Test Mode. Test mode determines which error template to use on the store side when a script or configuration error occurs. The error template used in test mode is "test_error" and shows more detail about the error. The error template used when out of test mode is "cart_error" and should be modified to tell the customer who to contact when and error occurs.
  • Require Login. When this setting is checked, the script will check for a valid login status before continuing. If the customer is not logged in, they will be presented with a login screen using the "login_error" template. When this setting is on, login checking may be bypassed on specific pages by passing the "nologin=1" parameter. When unchecked, login is still required for any account function or checkout function. Login can be required for specific pages without this setting by passing the parameter, "require_login=1".

System Environment Settings

  • Limit Query. The default limit to maximum records returned by search queries is 200. This may be increased if desired.
  • Limit File UPload Size. For customer uploads for product options, the default maximum file size is 512,000 bytes. This may be overridden in the file size option field for each option, or, increased or decreased using this setting. Enter in bytes, not K.
  • Use Cookies Only. This setting is only recommended when problems with sessions occur. The scripts use a special session handling routine in conjunction with some cookies.
  • Cookie Domain. To make cookies available on all subdomains of your site, enter, something like ".domain.com". Otherwise, cookies are accessible only to the domain of the URL that sets it. So, do not mix links throughout the site. This setting applies to both cookies and session cookies. This setting is necessary when your regular site utilizes the "www" and your SSL site doesn't.
  • Cookie Directory. The default cookie and session path is "/". If you have multiple 5th Avenue Installations on the same domain, or there is a conflict between 2 software installations, you can specify the path to the store pages URL to keep them separate. But, you will be limited to using this specific path.
