With 5th Avenue Shopping Carts, you can have an unlimited levels of categories. In addition to supporting a complex hierarchial category structure, you can also have different category "trees". For example, you can categorize products based on type of product, manufacturer products, region, or "special" categories. Some possibilities for special categorization might be "Best Buys", "Joe's Favorites", or "Most Popular".

Category Types:
The default category type has been named "product".
To add another type of category:

1. Go to "Create/edit database fields in the Wizard panel.
2. Select categories as the table and pick edit in the category_type row.
3. In the entry for "Special", add your new category type separated with a semi-colon.
4. Do the same for the "values" entry and save. Your new category type will be added to the category type dropdown in the add/edit category screen.
